Established in the 1950s, Shijiazhuang’s Fifth Cotton Textile Mill served as North China’s largest textile industrial base. It witnessed the miracle of Hebei’s light industry development and carried over half a century of glory. The site of Zhonghai Yunjin stands precisely where the Fifth Cotton Textile Mill once operated, a plot left abandoned for three decades. Now redeveloped by China Overseas Properties, it revives the site’s vitality and memory.

The project’s design philosophy translates the concept of “silk brocade weaving” into spatial elements. Weaving techniques distill into clean lines, patterns abstract into interlaced textures, and fabric forms transform into flowing surfaces. The site’s metal materials pay homage to the Fifth Factory’s glorious history.
